India Retaliates, Recovers Explosives Amid Heightened Hostility Along LoC

The Indian Army hit back at Pakistani troops in retaliatory firing and recovered a cache of explosives along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Poonch district of Jammu & Kashmir, officials aware of the matter said on Thursday, amid a spurt in hostilities close to the de facto border.

In a statement, the army said the LoC was tense due to "stray incidents" but clarified that it did not amount to a ceasefire violation and the security situation was stable. According to officials aware of the matter, the Pakistan Army used "small arms" as it targeted an Indian post at Tarkundi, prompting a retaliation from the Indian side.
