Vijayan's daughter too refutes graft charges in court

Veena Thaikandiyil, the only daughter of Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, has stated that her father was not involved in the operations of her now-defunct company.

In an affidavit submitted to the Kerala High Court, she claimed that her Bangalore-based company, Exalogic Solutions, operated independently.
Independent journalist Ajayan Reghu petitioned the court, seeking a directive for the Central Bureau of Investigation to investigate Vijayan's role in alleged corrupt practices.
The Serious Fraud Investigation Office (SFIO) had referenced Thaikandiyil’s statement to support its claim that she received a monthly payoff from a mining company.
In its complaint regarding economic offences in Kochi, the SFIO raised concerns about Vijayan’s daughter's dealings.
