Swedish government raises 2025 GDP forecast

The Swedish government on Tuesday raised its GDP growth forecast for 2025 to 1.6% from 0.9% seen in September and said the economy had turned a corner after a period of weakness even as uncertainties remain.

GDP for 2026 is now seen expending by 3.0%, slightly lower than the 3.1% expansion predicted three months ago, Sweden’s finance ministry said.
“The economic recover has finally begun,” Finance Minister Elisabeth Svantesson told reporters at a news conference.
