SLC organises ‘Linguistic Security’ workshop

The General Secretariat of the Supreme Legislation Committee in the Emirate of Dubai (SLC) organised a workshop titled “Linguistic Security,” attended by legal professionals from the SLC General Secretariat and various government entities in Dubai.

This initiative forms part of national efforts to promote the Arabic language and affirm its pivotal role as a cornerstone of the UAE's national identity, while exploring the effective legislative mechanisms for its promotion and protection.

The workshop addressed several key themes, including the concept and dimensions of linguistic security, the deep connection between language and national identity, legislative frameworks for safeguarding the Arabic language, the role of linguistic policy in maintaining the integrity of the language, and an overview of government initiatives aimed at promoting linguistic security.
