Shabab Al Ahli kicked off the defence of their Adnoc Pro League crown with a commanding 2-0 win against newly-promoted Al Dhafra at Rashid Stadium in the opening matchweek of the 2025-26 season.

The reigning champions wasted no time in stamping their authority on the contest, taking a two-goal lead inside the first half and maintaining their composure throughout the remainder of the match to secure a clean sheet and their first three points of the campaign.

The breakthrough came after just 14 minutes when Guilherme Da Silva opened the new season in style, finishing with precision as his low-driven effort slipped beyond Al Dhafra's goalkeeper.

The home side doubled their advantage IO minutes later. Cartabia, a constant source of creativity, delivered a perfectly measured cross that found Victor Da Silva, who rose highest to head powerfully into the back of the net, leaving the visitors' defence with no chance.
