Asha's Restaurant at Wafi Mall, Dubai, turned into a cultural epicentre on November 30 as it unveiled Echoes of Heritage - a spectacular showcase blending art, music and dance, combined with the rich flavours of Asha's.

The event was hosted by Paint Brush Art Community, co-founded by Dr. Romit Purohit and Sonal Purohit. Asha's Restaurant is named after Indian playback singer, entrepreneur, actress and television personality, Asha Bhosle. Known for her versatility, she is regarded as one of the greatest and most influential singers in Hindi cinema. Asha Bhosle is also the owner of the restaurant.
"Food is an art form, just like music," Asha Bhosle has said - a sentiment that resonated through out the evening, as guests helped them selves to the art, dance, music and the culinary repast. "Asha Bhosle believes that every dish should tell a story, just like a song," said Sonal Purohit. Guests were treated to the works of 21 international artists; they harmonised with Asha's family and contemporary décor. The highlight was Sugat Priyadarshi's live upside down portrait of Asha, revealed the right side up later, with a dramatic flourish.
Music and dance elevated the experience: Emirati classical singer Ahmed Al Hosani, winner of WOW Red Award for Cultural Voice of the Middle East at WOW Awards Middle East, 2025, joined Dr. Romit Purohit for a rendition of Can't Help Falling in Love by Elvis Presley. Kathak virtuoso Karuna Rathor "Tina" mesmerised the audience with her performance set to Asha Bhosle's iconic song In ankhon ki masti mein (For the intoxicating beauty of these eyes) from the film Umrao Jaan. The evening also featured a panel discussion with distinguished guests, who explored how art fosters mental health and well being. Rajan Malik, Head, Asha's Global Operations, said that "this evening celebrates heritage through art, dance and cuisine - three universal languages."
