Exciting miler Opera Ballo returns to the scene of his only defeat as he bids for a first Group-race victory in the G2 Joel Stakes on day two of Newmarket's Cambridgeshire meeting on Friday.

Following two impressive Kempton Park wins at the start of the year, Opera Ballo lined up over the Rowley Mile for the G3 Craven Stakes in April, when he pulled hard before fading to sixth behind Field Of Gold.
The Ghaiyyath colt again showed headstrong tendencies when comfortably taking the Listed Heron Stakes at Sandown Park in May before a more mature performance in the Listed Sir Henry Cecil Stakes at Newmarket's July Festival.
