Mohanlal thanks Malayalam cinema after Phalke win

Responding to his winning of prestigious Dada Saheb Phalke Award, the highest honour in Indian cinema, superstar Mohanlal thanked Malayalam film world for “making me what I am.”

Addressing media persons here on Sunday, the actor described the recognition as a significant milestone in his nearly five decade-long career.
"In my career spanning 48 years, I consider the Dadasaheb Phalke Award as one of the biggest wins. This award has been received by the big names of cinema before, and I feel deeply honoured to join their ranks. I remember everyone who has been with me through these 48 years. Many who stood by me are no longer here, but I remember them all at this moment. Everyone together makes cinema — they made Mohanlal," he said.
"I thank Malayalam cinema, which made me who I am. I share this award with everyone it is not mine alone. This is a God-given honour."
