Dubai court upholds jail, deportation in drugs case

Dubai Court of Appeal upheld the ruling of the court of first instance sentencing an Arab national to one month in jail and deportation after serving his term.

The court also imposed a two-year ban on him transferring or depositing funds to others, either directly or through intermediaries, without prior approval from the Central Bank of the UAE, in coordination with the Ministry of Interior.

The suspect was convicted of possessing and abusing narcotics obtained from a dealer via social media after transferring payment to a bank account.
