Court upholds verdict in mutual assault case

The Dubai Court of Appeal upheld the ruling of the court of First Instance, which fined a Gulf husband and his Arab wife Dhs8,000 each after they were convicted of mutual assault following a dispute between them which escalated into an altercation and assaults.

The case file indicated that the husband assaulted his wife and took her phone, while the wife responded by breaking the outer glass of his luxury car and damaging its body.

The details of the case date back to March 2025, when a maid filed a report stating that an Arab woman had been assaulted by her husband inside their home in Al Barsha area, noting that the husband assaulted his wife with a stick after a verbal altercation between them and took her phone during the incident.
