Complaint filed against BJP candidate for hate speech

The Kerala Students’ Union (KSU), linked to the Congress party, has filed a legal complaint against B Gopalakrishnan, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate for the Guruvayur Assembly constituency, over controversial comments he made.
In a widely circulated campaign video, the BJP leader stated that the Guruvayur constituency has not elected a Hindu Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) in almost fifty years.
The KSU claims these remarks have communal overtones that could incite discord.
He accused both the Left Democratic Front (LDF) and the Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF) of deliberately avoiding candidates from the Hindu community.
