His Highness Sheikh Hamad Bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Fujairah, said the decision to unify the Armed Forces, issued on 6th May 1976, remains a source of pride in the UAE's military, which today stands as a global model in safeguarding the security and stability of the nation.

He affirmed that this decision reflects the vision of the Founding Fathers, who believed in the importance of building a strong army capable of protecting the homeland and preserving its gains.
In a statement marking the 49th anniversary of the unification of the Armed Forces, Sheikh Hamad added that the Armed Forces are a cornerstone of the nation and one of the most vital pillars of the Union.
