Gold slips even as new Trump tariffs kick in

Despite the dip, prices in UAE are still far from being shopper-friendly
Gold shoppers in the UAE and beyond are actually getting some relief from the new US tariffs announced overnight by US President Donald Trump on all importers.
Immediately after Trump ticked off the tariff hikes, gold had shot of to another high, even crossing $3,170 an ounce at some points. But then, it dropped to under $3,148 and now to $3,133.
The UAE gold price is currently Dh350.25 a gram for 22 carat. In Saudi Arabia, it is SR356.
