Court deems the lapse critical, orders Dh100,000 in compensation
The Abu Dhabi Court of First Instance has ordered a dentist and a private dental clinic to pay Dh100,000 in compensation to a patient who suffered psychological and moral harm after undergoing gum surgery without her consent.
The court found that the dentist failed to inform the patient of potential risks and did not obtain her written approval before the procedure.
