Squad depth sign of progress
Grimsby Telegraph

DAVID Artell was able to give some key players a rest in midweek, such is the luxury he has now with his Grimsby Town squad.

Nobody who could be available for selection for the big cup tie against Premier League Wolves would want to pull up against Accrington Stanley on Wednesday, but it seems the team got through it with no real hitches.
Key pieces like Jaze Kabia, Charles Vernam and Geza David Turi were taken out of the starting lineup, and others stepped in with no real change in the team’s display as they picked up another win.
It is a stark contrast to the state of the squad at this point last term, with injuries and a general lack of match readiness in others piling up, but Artell now has ready-made replacements to call upon.
