BAILEY THOMAS IS ONE OF MANY YOUNG PEOPLE SUPPORTED BY THE SPACE, WHICH HAS UNDERGONE A STUNNING REVAMP
-
Alice Jebson, a former YPDG volunteer and now a staff member has seen the positive impact the space has for young people
A BEAUTIFUL new space in the heart of Grimsby is changing lives for the better and can't wait to welcome more young people in to have fun, discover their passions and unlock their potential.
After more than five years of work rejuvenating the former West Haven Maltings and Migar House, North East Lincolnshire's Horizon Youth Zone is getting ready for its grand opening on February 14.
Ørsted, the world's leading offshore wind company, donated £1 million to the development of the Horizon Youth Zone, the single largest donation in the company’s history.
With its East Coast Hub at Grimsby's Royal Dock and almost 700 people working in the area, the renewable energy company is committed to ensuring that Grimsby’s young people are supported, inspired and excited about their future.
That support has gone beyond funding. The company has backed the Young People's Development Group (YPDG) to ensure youth voices shaped the look, feel and spirit of the new youth zone.
From creating the Horizon Youth Zone's logo featuring the iconic Grimsby Dock Tower, to picking out paint colours and interviewing every single youth zone employee during the job application process, the Young People's Development Group have put their stamp on the centre.
