EXPERIMENT AGAINST SWINDON PAID OFF, BUT IT COULD CHANGE FOR TRANMERE

Artell keeps open mind on his Town midfield options

DAVID Artell experimented with a different midfield setup in terms of personnel in Grimsby Town's draw away at Swindon Town at the weekend.

The Mariners boss started Geza David Turi and George McEachran together for only his second time this season, with the latter playing further forward as the former assumed his normal role at the base of the midfield trio.

Kieran Green was the other box-to-box type selected from the start, with alternative options Evan Khouri and Jamie Walker on the bench.

Turi was fresh off scoring his first international goal for the Faroe Islands against Croatia and has had more involvement for Town lately after a quiet start to his first full season at the club.

McEachran was trialled as a more progressive midfielder, having played as the sitter for most of his Grimsby career, and after a shaky start for the team, the selection seemed to work, with Town taking control in the first half.
