A great experience never to be forgotten

Henry Hill (Upton St Leonards and Gloucester Schools' 'A' team captain), shares his reflections on the 2024/25 district season.

T'S hard to believe the season has already come to its conclusion.

Hyped up to be one of the best years ever, it's safe to say GPSFA 24/25 has lived up to the glowing reports of former players.

I have been truly honoured to represent the Gloucester District Team and to be selected as captain has been a privilege.

It all started last May, the trial process eventually reducing two hundred trialists to 22 boys and 11 girls who were given the opportunity to wear the famous black and yellow shirts of GPSFA.

This opportunity has provided us with the chance to meet and bond with people from different schools, who we may never have met outside the occasional football fixture.

These friendships were secured with our out-of-football activities, starting with a team bonding session in the Forest of Dean and the annual fixture against last year's respective sides.

The season's fixtures have allowed us to play against teams from all around the country (for example, Poole & East Dorset and Hackney for the A squad: Carmarthen and Swansea for the B squad and North Somerset and Bridgend for the Girls amongst many others).
