WHEN Rebecca Porter saw the selling details of a tired-looking mansion near Bridgend, on the outskirts of the village of Llangeinor, when she was looking for a home for the family to grow, she was not impressed.

- JOANNE RIDOUT

Llangeinor House, being sold by the family of the local GP for the Garw Valley, had been a much-loved home for decades but Rebecca could see it had also not been updated for many decades, and she should know, with her background in real estate.

Rebecca, aged 44 and from Bridgend, says: “Bizarrely, when I started looking at this house that was advertised I laughed and said ‘who would buy that? That is a lot of work, and then I went and bought it!”

Rebecca says: “They raised their family there, and eventually the younger generation left and then you're left with a very big house with only two people rattling around in it and that’s why we're selling, why we now need to go, we need to size down.
