Policy for animals at restaurants

There are quite a few pet-friendly restaurants across the Garden Route, so you can comfortably eat lunch or have a drink with family and friends in the company of your pet.

While it is mandated that animals, with the exception of guide or service dogs accompanying individuals with disabilities, should not be allowed in areas where food is handled, the Garden Route District Municipality developed a policy last year to regulate restaurants that wish to welcome dog owners and their dogs.
