The Captains Trophy at Mendip Golf Club saw 47 pairs take part, with Wayne Dryburgh & Omar Aziz coming out on top with a fine nett 58. Richard Clifford & Cliff Hall were two behind in second, with Lee Callow & Danny Durbin third on 61 after countback from Martin Stephens & Mark Necker.

The ladies' Alliance A Team went down 8-6 when visiting a very dry and fiery Worlebury. Wins came from Aimee Sawyer, Libby Dezis and Ellen Reakes.
The ladies' ICL Team had a fine 4-3 success at Oake, with wins from Carol King, Pauline Young, Lally Gibson and Ali Kay. Lizzie Wood made her team debut, while thanks also went to Susan Forshaw who stood in at the last minute despite it being her birthday.
A very successful Ladies Open Bowmaker was held with a full start sheet. The winning visitors' team, with 83 points, came from Sidmouth ahead of a Burnham side on 79 and Bristol & Clifton on 78. The first members' team prize went to Gail Procter, supported by guests from Mendip Spring, with 78.
The Mixed Team visited Enmore and lost a very close match 4.5-3.5. Wins came from David & Lillian Peel and Peter & Allison Rumming, alongside halves from John Ward & Rosemary Brown, Clive Copp & Pippa Brown and David & Susan Forshaw.
Incredibly, the seniors had five fixtures during the past week. The Scratch KO Team, playing in the Somerset County event, narrowly lost 3-2 at Clevedon despite wins from Martin Stephens and Steve Davis.
The Avalon Team maintained their unbeaten record with an excellent 3-2 win at Enmore. Success came from Simon Brand & Paul Godwin, Gary Quin & Andy Humphries and Simon Wynn & Chris Betenson.
