G7 SUMMIT 2025

MANEUVERING TO REMAIN RELEVANT IN RAPIDLY CHANGING WORLD

The 51st summit or the 57th annual meeting of Group of Seven or G7, an exclusive club of the world's advanced economies and democracies was held from June 15 to 17, 2025 in Kananaskis, Alberta, Canada.

Despite being overshadowed by the outbreak of the Israel-Iran conflict and President Donald Trump's participation restricted to only Day One, the Summit witnessed some candid discussions on current global issues ending in substantial outcome. The initial hitch of inviting India's PM in the Summit being held in Canada with whom the bilateral relations were on low ebb too ended when the Canada Prime Minister, Mark Carney personally invited PM Modi for the Summit. The concluding remarks by the Canada Prime Minister, the host of Summit, emphasising that in an increasingly dangerous and divided world, co-operation with reliable partners is more important than ever, and assured of building a new era of collaboration, rooted in mutual support and resilient partnerships.
