The Border Roads Organisation (BRO) is a road construction executive force in India which works to construct and manage roads and bridges in the border areas of India while facing adverse conditions. This organisation was established on 7 May 1960 by the then Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru. The headquarters of the BRO is New Delhi and the current Director General is Lieutenant General Raghu Srinivasan, PVSM, VSM. The BRO develops and maintains road networks in the border areas of India and friendly neighboring countries. This organisation works shoulder to shoulder with the Indian Armed Forces in the border areas.
