Markets rally enters 6th day, NSE midcap hits record high

SHARES ADVANCED FOR the sixth straight session on Monday, with the Sensex climbing 388 points and Nifty closing above the 26,000 mark, following an across-the-board rally and strong quarterly performance by corporates.
Traders said strong buying by domestic institutional investors fuelled the rally. The mid-cap gauge hit a record high.
"The market tone remains positive with the benchmark indices close to their record high levels and banking sector expected to do well," said Aamar Deo Singh, seniorvice president at Angel One.
