Southampton Delhi is getting students who planned to study abroad

HAS UNIVERSITY of Southampton's Delhi campus, located in Gurugram, become the new 'abroad' for some Indian students? Vishal Talwar, the chief operating officer of the university — previously the director of IMT Ghaziabad — told FE that Southampton Delhi is attracting students who planned to study abroad, but have now chosen this campus.

"Our first batch size, starting in August, is of 140-odd students — spread across six programmes, in four undergraduate and two postgraduate — and many of them wanted to go abroad for learning, but they chose this campus because they are getting the same quality of education in India," Talwar told FE. "They are the ones who were looking at going to the UK, Australia, and Canada, but found high-quality education in India."
