Rice exports to Bangladesh commence

IN A MAJOR boost to India's rice exports prospects, the shipment of grain to Bangladesh has commenced with the country approving imports of 0.5 million tonne (MT) of rice and removal of import duty on grain.

Trade sources told FE that rice shipments through Petrapole border, West Bengal has commenced and India exporters are likely to bag a major share of the export order due to price and freight advantages, benefiting exporters of non-basmati rice v
