India, UK Prepare to Seal Trade Pact Next Week

New Delhi to cut tariffs on 90% of goods, London 99%

India and the UK are likely to sign their Free Trade Agreement (FTA) next week, as legal teams from both sides have nearly finalized the formal text of the pact.

The conclusion of FTA negotiations between India and the UK was announced on May 6. Following the announcement, legal teams began work on preparing the final legal text for signing.

There is a possibility that Prime Minister Narendra Modi may be in London to witness the signing of the agreement. However, confirmation of the Prime Minister's visit is still awaited.
