Govt for dedicated zones in industrial cities for MSMEs

COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY minister Piyush Goyal has asked for earmarking zones for startups and micro, small and medium industries in the new smart industrial cities that are coming up along the industrial corridors across the country.

"The land in the zones should be offered to MSMEs and startups at subsidised rates and zones equipped with state-of-the-art infrastructure. They should also be offered technological support," he said at a review meeting of NICDC-led industrial nodes in Andhra Pradesh under various industrial corridors.

National Industrial Corridor Development Corporation (NICDC) is developing 12 industrial smart cities across 10 states spread over 26,000 acres at a total cost of ₹28,602 crore.
