Flight of loss: Grief engulfs families

Newlywed from Ahmedabad, nurse from Kerala, doctor family from Rajasthan — on board the ill-fated flight

Isha Maheshwari from Ahmedabad's Bavla was inconsolable, barely shifting her gaze from her hands, adorned with dark red mehndi.

The 24-year-old got married to Bhavik Maheshwari (26) on June 10. The latter, a resident of Vadodara who was based in London for the last couple of years, had come home around 10 days ago for his wedding and was returning on the ill-fated flight, while she stayed back in Gujarat.

As her family urged her to stay strong, her eyes remained transfixed, and she showed no reaction to the wails of other grieving relatives around her.
