Eighth Pay Commission may be set up next week

PAY BOOST Centre set to form 8th pay panel ahead of Bihar polls Panel to revise pay and pensions for 11.8 mn central staff, pensioners

THE CENTRE IS expected to form the 8th Pay Commission next week, just ahead of the Bihar assembly elections, and 10 months after it was approved by the Cabinet, according to sources.

The panel will recommend the revised pay and pension norms for over 11.8 million central government employees and pensioners.

The government is understood to have finalised the terms of reference (ToR), along with the chairman and members of the commission, to oversee the decadal revision of pay and pensions for central government staff.
