Mahanagar Gas plans to spend ₹1,000 crore in FY26 as capex compared with ₹800 crore in the current financial year.

In an interview, its managing director Ashu Shinghal tells Raghavendra Kamath about the company's plans and strategy. Excerpts:
You plan to acquire renewable energy assets. Could you elaborate on the specific types of assets you are targeting, their expected ticket size, and other relevant details?
We primarily aim to acquire solar assets in the range of ₹100 crore to ₹150 crore. The acquisition will be funded through our balance sheet, utilising internal accruals without raising any debt.
You have ambitious CNG plans. Could you share more details?
