Chhattisgarh liquor scam: ED raids premises of former CM Baghel, son

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Monday conducted searches at 14 locations in Chhattisgarh's Durg district, including the residence of former chief minister Bhupesh Baghel and his son Chaitanya, in connection with an alleged liquor scam.
The Congress alleged that the ED action was a "conspiracy to manage the headlines" on a day when Parliament's Budget Session reconvened, saying the government sought to "divert attention" from pressing issues.
In a post on X, Baghel's office alleged a "conspiracy to stop the Congress in Punjab". Last month, Baghel was named the AICC general secretary in charge of Punjab, where Assembly elections are due in early 2027.
