TVS, Royal Enfield lead January 2W sales rally

WHOLESALE DESPATCHES OF motorcycles and scooters by the country's top six manufacturers were muted in January compared with the year-ago period, following destocking efforts and dull demand for older models made in 2024.
Sales of two-wheelers clocked 1.44 million units in January, an increase of just 2.3% y-o-y. Demand continued to be driven by the rural market, where the growth was slightly ahead of that in the urban regions.
Newly-launched models like TVS Jupiter, Royal Enfield Bear 650 and the Hero Xtreme 250R led the despatches. With Hero MotoCorp, Bajaj Auto, TVS Motor and Honda expected to ramp up supplies of their electric models, volumes are expected to rise in the coming months.
