Block trades hit 9-month high as markets revive

A WAVE OF secondary share sales in the country, driven by a rebound in local equities, is pushing the deal volume to the highest level in nearly nine months.

The surge is being led by Singapore Telecommunications' roughly $1 billion stake sale in Bharti Airtel, the largest block trade in the country so far this year.

Block deals this week have exceeded $1.6 billion, the biggest amount since late August, according to provisional data compiled by Bloomberg.
