CCI Seeks Financial Records of India Cements, 2 Others

The Competition Commission of India (CCI) has directed Aditya Birla Group firm UltraTech, which now owns India Cements, along with Dalmia Cement Bharat and Shree Digvijay Cement, to submit their financial documents, after a probe by its director general revealed contraventions of competition norms.
The CCI direction came on a complaint filed by state-run energy major ONGC alleging cartelisation in its tenders. The fair trade regulator had directed its probe unit director general to look into the issue on November 18, 2020.
