He congratulated the Class of 2025 on an excellent set of results.

"You have been one of our hardest-working matric classes to date, and you can rightly celebrate your achievements," Mr Maynier said.

"Your dedication to your studies has set a wonderful example for future classes of matrics."

In the far south, Masiphumelele High School improved its pass rate from 78.8% to 80%.

Principal Skahle Nhlabathi said she was "very excited" about the results and that the school was now aiming for between 85% and 90% next year. "We are positive we can get it," she added.

"I want to congratulate our teachers for the work, effort and dedication in assisting the pupils. Nothing can happen without them," she said.

Fish Hoek High School achieved a 100% pass rate, improving from 99.5% the previous year.

"We are incredibly proud to celebrate our Matric Class of 2025 and their outstanding achievement of a 100% pass rate," principal Steven Joubert said.
