Comedy star gives £132k donation to charity helping animals in war zones

ACTOR and comedian Ricky Gervais has made a large donation to a Devon-based animal charity.
Following his Mortality stand-up tour, Gervais donated almost £2.5 million of proceeds to several animal charities.
One of the 22 charities to receive a huge donation was Nowzad. Based in Bradninch, Nowzad delivers animal welfare in Afghanistan and Ukraine. The charity received £132,000 from The Office star.
Speaking about the donation, Nowzad posted on its Facebook page: "Ricky Gervais has literally just blown our socks off (again!).
"If you heard a collective howl of joy coming from Nowzad this week, it was us reacting to the news that our patron, the one and only Ricky Gervais, has dropped a truly staggering donation!
