We're with you...Yard backs Jewish Londoners as hate attacks soar

ANTI-SEMITIC attacks have soared since Hamas gunmen invaded Israel, a Jewish security group said today — as a senior Scotland Yard officer told the Jewish community: “We stand firmly with you.”

The Community Security Trust said there were around 50 hate incidents in London since Saturday, with victims suffering appalling physical and verbal abuse. Graffiti — including a shocking image of Adolf Hitler giving a Nazi salute — also appeared on walls, the charity said. It also reported an orthodox Jew was punched on a bus in London and had his kippah cap stolen, while in another incident a passing van driver shouted vile anti-Semitic abuse on Oxford Street.

The CST, which logs the alleged crimes, said in total across the UK there had been 89 cases of anti-Semitic behaviour reported since Saturday. The group recorded 21 anti-Semitic incidents over the same four days in 2022 — an increase of 324 per cent.
