Met chief: You'll need to change law if you want to ban these marches

SIR Mark Rowley has warned MPs that they will have to change the law if they want to make it easier to ban pro Palestinian marches as he defended the professionalism of the police officer who stopped an "openly Jewish" man from walking towards protesters.
The Met Commissioner said the sergeant's attempt to prevent a potential clash was justified. The officer told Gideon Falter, the chairman of the Campaign Against Antisemitism, that he was worried about the reaction of pro-Palestinian protesters if he allowed him to go near them because he was identifiably Jewish.
The incident prompted condemnation from Rishi Sunak and led to the Commissioner being summoned to separate meetings with Home Secretary James Cleverly and London Mayor Sadiq Khan.
