HARMLESS prank or an act of vile sedition? When it comes to the Liz Truss lettuce prank that happened at a theatre in rural Suffolk on Tuesday night, opinions are divided.

Millions watched the stunt online, as a banner of lettuce with the words “I crashed the economy” descended behind the former prime minister while she was mid speech, and most were content to giggle.
The audience in the room, however, were largely unimpressed. Most of them were self-described “Liz Truss supporters” who had bought tickets for the 49-day prime minister’s talk about her book Ten Years To Save The West.
