Finding the balance i in boarding

As a traditional prep school with a strong boarding heritage, making the decision to remove compulsory boarding for Years 7 and 8 was always going to be a big one for Caldicott.

One advantage of being a small school is that feedback can be easily sought from stakeholders. Prospective parents who were choosing not to send their sons to Caldicott were saying they weren't ready to commit their children to weekly boarding in Year 7. A minority of current parents were saying their sons weren't settling into boarding as quickly as they'd hoped. Since the announcement of the change to compulsory boarding, Caldicott has been delighted by the overwhelmingly positive feedback.
