CHELSEA CRISIS TALKS IN BID TO HALT THE SLIDE

CHELSEA’S new technical director Christopher Vivell led an emergency meeting with Graham Potter and his staff yesterday to address how their season is unravelling.

Crisis talks were called at the club’s Cobham training ground after co-owners Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali gave their support to Potter and told senior staff to stick together after a calamitous few weeks.

In what has been described by sources as a “strategy meeting”, Vivell led discussions which also involved new sporting directors Paul Winstanley and Laurence Stewart.

Boehly and Eghbali are not thought to have been present in a meeting of the “football operation” at the club.

Potter and his backroom team arrived at work determined to turn things around and talks centred around how to take the club forward.

There has been a full debrief of Saturday’s 1-0 defeat by Southampton at Stamford Bridge, which was greeted by boos from Chelsea fans and calls for Potter to be sacked.
