CAREY IS UNFAZED BY ROBINSON'S FOUL-MOUTHED KHAWAJA SEND-OFF

AUSTRALIA wicketkeeper Alex Carey has brushed off Ollie Robinson's sledging of Usman Khawaja as part and parcel of "hostile" Ashes cricket.

Robinson ended centurion Khawaja's eight-hour stay at the crease when he bowled the opener on yesterday's third morning of the First Test and was caught on camera telling his rival to "F*** off, you f****** p***** during his celebration, sparking fury on social media and in some sections of the Australian media.

The 29-year-old could yet face punishment from the match referee, which would likely consist of a fine and a demerit point sanction, though with a clean slate to his name, the Sussex man is not at risk of suspension.

Carey, who had made a half-century partnering Khawaja as Australia were eventually skittled just seven runs shy of England's first-innings total, insisted the touring dressing room were unfussed by the incident.
