Councillors could overturn lease move that left bakery with £70k bill
Edinburgh Evening News

Councillors have branded a decision to pull a deal on the lease of a unit in South Queensferry to a local business “politically contentious”.
Lewis Gill's Dune Bakery in South Queensferry has been a popular spot since opening last year and the company is looking to expand to a second site.
Councillors have received more than 200 individual emails after Dune Bakery had a lease on a building in the town suddenly refused - leaving them with a bill for thousands of pounds.
Dune Bakery was facing a bill of around £70,000 after Edinburgh City Council pulled the deal for the unit at The Loan at the last minute.
The council backed out on a lease with the bakery the day the agreement was to be signed - after the business had already spent £20,000 on negotiations and legal fees.
