Thief dragged delivery driver along road and mocked him as he tried to stop van being stolen

A PROLIFIC Derbyshire criminal dragged a delivery driver down the street and left him needing multiple skin grafts as the victim tried to stop him stealing his van.

Nottingham Crown Court heard how Kayne Palmer then stopped the vehicle and mocked the man by cruelly telling him to “get up off the road” before driving off.

During a spate of other burglaries and car thefts, the 33-year-old also played a part in taking Audi, Alfa Romeo and Land Rover cars with co-defendant Isaac Allen.

And he also ram-raided a store in Bestwood in a stolen Land Rover. Between them, the pair have amassed more than 200 offences during their criminal careers.

While 31-year-old Allen, of Kelso Gardens, The Meadows, avoided an immediate prison term, Palmer, of Cook Drive, Ilkeston, was jailed for seven years.
