Speed limit change will follow latest resurfacing

COUNCILLORS SAY THEY HAVE LISTENED TO THE COMMUNITY'S CONCERNS
A MAJOR Derby road used by thousands of motorists every day could see further changes following the completion of a major resurfacing project.
Derby City Council has proposed a change to the speed limit on Nottingham Road, between Borrowash Road and Silverhill Road, and on Derby Road, between Borrowash Road and St Hugh’s Church.
The stretch of road is currently a 40mph zone, with 30mph zones on each side, and the council says new residential developments in the area have caused increased traffic, prompting concerns over safety. The existing speed limit has been in place for several years and the road serves as a major route for both regular and public transport.
