Smith has returned to Derby Trailblazers, the club he helped guide to the 2024 NBL D1 League title and two Trophy titles during a superb seven-year period.Smith left Derby last summer to join Newcastle Eagles in the SLB but was recently released by mutual consent, opening the door for an immediate return to the Trailblazers.

"It feels really good to be back playing somewhere I'm comfortable with and I just hope I can help us get back on track and get back to winning ways," said Smith.

"I'm also looking forward to seeing everyone again and renewing friendships on and off the court."
