Privacy fears rejected in win for larger HMO

A DERBY HMO’s expansion has been allowed on appeal despite initially being refused on grounds that neighbours’ privacy could be invaded.

Derby City Council's planning department rejected plans for a six-bedroom HMO (house of multiple occupation) to be extended into a seven-bedroom property at Breedon Hill Road.

The extension was to allow two more people to live in the detached building near the city centre - increasing from six to eight occupiers.
