Parker's brace as Robins in control

SAM Parker bagged a brace and L'Varn Brandy added another as Ilkeston Town beat Lancaster City 3-0 in the NPL Premier Division.

Parker opened the scoring at the New Manor Ground in the 31st minute with a fierce strike that took a deflection and he doubled the Robins’ lead 10 minutes after the break with a thumping header.

Brandy scored a superb solo goal in the 60th minute when he picked the ball up in his own half before driving forward and finishing with a curling effort.

Robins keeper Alfie Roberts then made sure of a clean sheet with an 85th-minute penalty save.

In the NPL Midlands Division, Mickleover had to settle for a point at home against Coleshill Town.

Manni Norkett gave the hosts a ninth-minute lead but the points were shared after Theo Rowe equalised for Coleshill in the 71st minute.
