New lights plan for A52 junction could make traffic worse, warn councillors

PLANS to put traffic lights around one of Derby's busiest roundabouts could make A52 congestion worse, councillors fear.
Major changes to the Spondon Asda Island and its junctions with Brian Clough Way are set to be approved. Investigation and survey work at the island begins on Monday as part of the early phases of the £3.75million scheme.
Officials from the East Midlands Combined County Authority (EMCCA) are set to push forward the project in full at a transport committee meeting this week - with a further and final approval set for March.
